“THE FIRST HANDBOOK OF THE SKI SAFARI IN THE DOLOMITES”

And now take 10 minit of your time to read " The first handbook of the Ski Safari in the Dolomites"

STEP 1 (how to arrive in the Dolomites)
Download and read the "INFO 3" PDF file from my logistical web page "The Katia´s Dolomites Informations". Write me your questions about flights, trains or rental cars. I can help you step to step in any aspect of the organization of your trip in Italy and Ski Safari in the Dolomites.

STEP 2 (what do you need carry during the ski safari)
For a Ski Safari in the Dolomites you need a little backpack (20/25 liters) with the essential components that you can see in the photo “CHECK THIS LIST!”. It's sure a minimal list.... but remember that we carry this back pack for all days of the Ski Safary in the Dolomites. Don't carry heavy beauty cases, I-pads or PCs, heavy photo cameras and other components......

Reserve the Dolomiti Super Ski ticket for the number of the days by the online shop.

“THE PROGRAM OF THE COMPLETE SKI SAFARI IN THE DOLOMITES”
The day before
You arrive in Bolzano and we meet us at your accommodation: Hotel Figl. This hotel now is your "base camp" of your skisafari and deposit of your main bag for the ski safari days. We have a organizative briefing on the evening where we check all equipments and tour organization. You enter on the Dolomites atmosphere with the dinner by the caracteristical Hopfen Restaurant (with home made beer and bread.... no bad as begin...)

Day 1 (from Bolzano to Sella Pass)
Starting from Bolzano, we’ll reach Castelrotto by skibus in about 40 minutes. Here it is possible to rent skies by the local shop of the "RENT AND GO". By cableway we’ll come up to the “Alpe di Siusi”. We firstly go through the ski area of Siusi, coming down to the Gardena valley, and go over all its slopes up to the Sella Pass. Overnight stay at the wonderful "Refuge Valentini”, one of the oldest refuges of the Dolomites.

Day 2 (from Sella Pass to the Marmolada)
This is a long day of your ski safari in the Dolomites. Downhill to the Pian dei Schiavaneis, uphill to the Pordoj Pass. Downhill to Arabba, uphill to the Padon Pass. Downhill to the Malga Ciapela and uphill by cableway to the top of the Marmolada, the highest one of the Dolomites. After it, the longest slope of the Dolomites (2100 m) up to the characteristic village of Sottoguda , to the guest house “La Montanara” if is available, or by ski bus up to Alleghe. Some free ride variations are possible.

Day 3 (from the Marmolada to Cortina)
Ski safari day on the Civetta ski areas. From Alleghe, uphill to the ski central district of the “Civetta” and crossing downhill towards Selva di Cadore. By ski bus to the ski resort of the Averau and downhill through the Cinque Torri slopes. By ski bus to Cortina, overnight at the "Hotel VIlla Neve"

Day 4 (Ski the three Cortina areas)
This ski safari day is dedicated to the three ski districts of Cortina. We’ll start with the one of Le Tofane, and after a suitable “warm-up” we’ll face the famous “black slope”, before it will be trampled on by too many people. This slope connects the superior ski area to the inferior one. (with low avalange danger, free ride variants are possible). We’ll spend the afternoon firstly on the district of Faloria, than we’ll go through the one of the Cristallo. Finally, we’ll go back to Cortina at the "Hotel Villa Neve".

Day 5 (from Cortina to the Badia valley)
Skibus from Cortina up to the Falzarego Pass. Uphill over the Lagazuoi peak and downhill on the long slope to the Capanna Alpina. By ski, we’ll be pulled by horses up to the ski-lifts of Badia Valley and will pass through the whole ski area of Cherz-Pralongià-Piz la Ila, skiing downhill to La Villa over the amazing slope of the Gran Risa. Uphill to the Gardenaccia and downhill to Pedraces. Uphill to the ancient Sanctuary of Sasc dl Crusc, with overnight at the renaissance gothic building.

Day 6 (from the Badia valley to the Fassa valley)
The Ski Safari of today begin with the long downhill to Pedraces and through several slopes up to Corvara. Uphill over the Gardena Pass e downhill to Selva in Gardena Valley. Uphill over the Ciampinoi mount and repetition of just four slopes to go back to the Sella Pass (the focus of this ski safari in the Dolomites). From here, directly downhill to the village of Canazei in Fassa Valley. By skibus up to Alba di Canazei and than uphill over the Collac. Downhill in Giumela valley, uphill to the Buffaure and downhill to the village of Pozza di Fassa. Overnight at Hotel Alaska or similar.

Day 7 (from the Fassa valley come back at Bolzano)
This is the last Ski Safari day! Uphill to the ski-resort of Predazzo, than downhill to the Pampeago ski area. On several slopes we’ll pass through this ski area up to Obereggen. Return by ski bus to Bolzano in about 40 minutes. Farewell-dinner at the ancient restaurant “Cà de Bezzi” (founded at the 1480) in Bolzano’s. Exactly what you’ll deserve after crossing over all the Dolomites by ski…
