“We spent three wonderful weeks in Italy recently, but the absolute best day of the whole trip was when Roberto took us on a 1-day driving tour of the Dolomites. He picked us up and dropped us off at our apartment, and customized the tour to suit our needs. We had a wonderful combination of driving and hiking, including an incredible trip up the Sass Pordoi, where we walked around its summit (it feels like a different planet up there, with its amazing white rock) and had lunch at a Rifugio. Roberto was incredibly knowledgable about the natural and human history of the Dolomites, and was able to ask all our questions in excellent English. He was also a very nice, interesting and fun person to have as a guide, and we can't recommend him enough! He is perfect for anyone, young or old, no matter what physical condition you are in -- he will be able to accommodate your needs, whether it's for a 1-day driving tour like us or a 7-day ski tour. You won't find a better mountain guide!"

Our hiking/scrambling/ferrata trip through the Dolomites was the highlight of our European vacation! Roberto did a great job customizing our trip to fit our needs, ability and time. He is a very knowledgeable guide. The mountains are outstanding and the refugios he chose for us to stay in were perfect. I would love to go back and do it all again.

Absolutely the best family vacation I have taken. Roberto was extremely helpful, and tailored the routes based on the experience levels of the family. When we couldn't climb due to weather, He even gave us maps/suggestions for sightseeing in Bolzano. I will definitely return next summer, hopefully with friends!

I had a wonderful vacation with Discovery Dolomites. Roberto was a perfect guide. He customized a 6 day Dolomite Trek for me to include both ferrata hiking and rock climbing; and we did lots of both. The routes were spectacular, the huts each night were all unique and welcoming, and the guiding was fun yet safe and professional. I cannot wait to go back!

We hired Roberto as a family guide and it was a truly fantastic decision. Roberto helped us explore the dolemites through “family rock climbing” which was very safe and great family experience. In addition he took us trekking in some spectacular areas, some of which had historical content from WWI. He is a truly an enthusiastic and professional mountain guide which we recommend to anyone coming to visit Northern Italy!

I just got back home from my European trip and the highlight, hands down, was my 4 day trek hut to hut with Roberto Iacopelli in the Dolomites. He had sent me the itinerary with options on each day to suit my abilities, this I really appreciated. The refugios we stayed in were beautiful, had great food, and wonderful views. I was challenged on the steep trails but my guide encouraged me, setting his pace to mine. I had a great sense of accomplishment by the end of each day! I recommend Discovery Dolomites to anyone, just be open about your abilities and they will adjust to your needs.

Fantastic experience with spectacular scenery. Our guide, Roberto, had great knowledge of the mountains and their history and was a real pleasure to spend time with. Our fellow trekkers were excellent company. The refuges and food en route were amazing, especially the apple strudel and dumplings! The highlight was definatelypanoramic views of sunrise from Piz Boe at 5 in the morning! Definately want to return to try out some more Via Ferratas.

As an experienced adventure traveler, I strongly recommend this experience to anyone who appreciates great scenery, nature, challenges, and cultural experiences. I booked a one day Via Ferrata trek over Roda di Vael with my two 17-year-old boys, and I wish we made time for more. Our guide, Roberto, was knowledgeable and patient with our lack of experience and preparation (we were two days coming from sea level). He gave good instruction and encouragement, and knew exactly when to get the best pictures. The rock climbing portions were something that none of us will ever forget. Our trek came early on a tour of Italy, but our time with Roberto was definitely the highlight. People here at work are jealous of me for doing this, which makes it that much better!

My wife and I spent August in Italy, and climbing with Roberto in the Dolomites was our favorite part. Roberto put together a fantastic three day climbing tour that was perfect for our ability as intermediate climbers. The first day, we connected two easy towers. On the second day, we climbed a beautifully exposed classic route with a long approach. For our third day, we climbed a longer and more difficult route, with the approach made easier by two ski lifts. Each day was unique and exciting. We learned a lot about the local geography, history, culture, and food from our excellent guide. Roberto also took great photos for us, and helped us find nice accommodations both in town and in the mountains. Having the right guide makes it easy to love the Dolomites. We can’t wait to return! Maybe next winter, to ski…?
