This is the most complete and flexible program of cross-country ski in the Dolomites area. In a single week you can have a 360° overview about all the best cross-country ski slopes of the Dolomites.
Read this flexible multi-days program and remember that I can adapt this idea at your effective holiday period, from 1 to 6 days or more I can build your “personal program”.
You can have your “base camp” in Bolzano, a amazing town with a perfect logistical position in the centre of the Dolomites territory. With a minimum of 30 min to a maximum of 2 hours with my car, every day we go to skiing in a different cross-country ski area of the Dolomites. Every evening we come back at Bolzano and you can live in the magic atmosphere of the characteristic Tyrolean old town. Visit the famous castles of Runkelstein and Firmian (the Reinold Messner Mountain Museum), the Oetzi “ice mummy” museum, or relax you at the “pharaonic” Merano spa “ the biggest spa of the alps, are only some activities after the ski…..  Write me to discover other possibilities, so I can begin work at your proposal of the dream!

Dolomites cross country ski: modular proposals

Read the modulare program and decide the number of your days and your preferred dates.
Remember, this is a modular program of cross-country skiing in the Dolomites. I can adapt this program at your expectations.  The complete program is 7 days, but is possible to organise shorter versions from 2 to 6 days

The day before (our briefing)

Upon your arrival in Bolzano, you’ll be welcomed by your mountain guide at your hotel. Sipping a cup of marvelous Italian espresso (or an “aperitivo”), we’ll have a organizative briefing about your program.

Dolomites cross country ski: DAY 1 – The Great Seiser Alm plateau

30 min by car + 10 min cableway – from 20 to 73 km slopes

We begin our period of cross-country skiing in the Dolomites with the famous and “high quote” Alpe di Siusi – Seiseralm ski area. 73 km of cross-country slopes in a hight quote between 1750 – 2100 m. with a incredible 360° panorama.

Dolomites cross country ski: DAY 2 – Dobbiaco Cortina on the old railway line

1,3 hrs by car – 42 km slope

A “absolute must” of the cross-country skiing in the Dolomites is the Dobbiaco-Cortina, 40 km long valley slope on the line of the old First World War railway.  It’s the slope of the Dobbiaco-Cortina international ski marathon. A very nice ski slope in a wild valley with a direct panorama on the famous three peaks of Lavaredo and a characteristic end in the famous town of Cortina d’Ampezzo. We have time for a short visit of Cortina and then we come back to Dobbiaco with the local bus.

Dolomites cross country ski: DAY 3 – Near the border with Austria

50 min by car – from 20 to 53 km slopes

This is a quite day in a very isolated valley or a combination of 2 cross country ski areas….. We visit before the great valley of “Val di Vizze – Pfitschtal” near the Border with Austria, 20 Km of medium difficult cross-country ski slope in a fantastic great surroding! Lunch in a characteristic mountain farm. And if you like on the afternoon we can go in the near valley “Racines” for other 12 or 25 Km, or visit the nice town of “Vipiteno – Sterzing”.

Dolomites cross country ski: DAY 4 and DAY 5 – The longest slope of the Alps

3 hrs by car – 82 km slopes

Are you ready for a 82 km long valley? The Engadin is a unique cross country ski experience! It’s divided in two days for logistical reasons. The first day we start early from Bolzano and drive to our hotel in Samedan (a town on the mid valley, near St. Moritz). We prepare us for the first section of this long cross country ski slope, we deposit our luggages in the room and take the bus to the Maloja pass. From the Maloja pass to Samedan we have 38 km linear slope in the magnific area of the Maloja lakes, St. Moritz and Pontresina. Overnight in the characteristic little town of Samedan and the second day we start from our hotel and continue in the valley for other 43 km to Zernez through all towns of the valley. Come back to Samedan with the Engadin mountain railway and come back at Bolzano (our base camp) with our car.  This is a unique and complete adventure!

Dolomites cross country ski: DAY 6 – Lavazè Pass

30 min by car – from 20 to 80 km slopes

The most extensive cross-country ski area in the Dolomites is sure the Lavazé pass. There are many slopes where the “classic tour” is the long slope from the Lavazé Pass to the Pietralba Santuary, 23 Km (one way). The fantastic panorama on the Dolomites and the visit at the Pietralba old Santuary are the two focus points of this day.

Dolomites cross country ski: DAY 7 – Casies Valley

1,30 hrs by car – from 20 to 42 km slopes

The 42 Km of the “Val Casies” valley are a international races slope very famous. Long flat sectors in alternance with difficult and steep sections are the characteristic of this long “cross-country ski slope in the Dolomites” in a traditional tyrolean area on the north border of the Dolomites.
