The Via Ferrata World War One: Pasubio Trekking is a “unique experience” for every hiker. Hiking in the Dolomites of Pasubio, along great trenches and bunkers on elevation of more of 2000 meters is a particular aspect of this modular trekking.
The Pasubio Dolomites are the last group of mountains of the southern Dolomites. The bottom end of the great Dolomites territory. Until today the touristic impact be minimal and only by italian local tourist, generally from the nearest Veneto Region.
During the WW1, First World War, the first line of the front, between the italian troups and Austro-Hungarian troops, began here. This area of wild mountains was a crucial strategic point where was the most cruents battles of this front. On the days of the famous “Strafenexpedition” the enormous Austrian-Hungarian attack, was the most intense artillery bombardments of the “world military history”… more of 1200 Italian cannons and 900 Austrian cannons have open the fire in contemporanely action… today when we walk on the upper mountain plateau of the Pasubio we can see these effects.
These are in short the reasons to choose the Via Ferrata World War One: Pasubio Trekking modulare program!
The following program, as you can see on the map, is a modular hiking trek that we can set from 2 to 4 days, as you prefer.

Via Ferrata World War One: DAY1 – Corno Battisti
Walking time: 6 hrs. – Total vertical gain (up): 1112 m.
The first day is dedicated at the long ascension at the wild Corno Battisti peak (1761 m.), part on the military path of the front, part on the easy Via Ferrata of the Cappello di Pulcinella, and the last part into the long tunnel and system of bunkers that climb inside the peak to the Selletta Battisti. Really a great day with many different configuration of technical terrain (paths, via ferrata and tunnels). The Corno Battisti tunnels was open only recently after a long restauration, until now was rarely frequented.

A continua alternance of exposed ledges and short tunnels that cut the towers. Don’t worry, every hiker can follow this path, logically with attention… It will be a great final experience to end the trekking of Pasubio.
