The WW1 Pasubio Dolomites Trekking is a “unique experience” for every hiker. Hiking in the Dolomites of Pasubio, along great trenches and bunkers on elevation of more of 2000 meters is a particular aspect of this modular trekking.
The Pasubio Dolomites are the last group of mountains of the southern Dolomites. The bottom end of the great Dolomites territory. Until today the touristic impact be minimal and only by italian local tourist, generally from the nearest Veneto Region.
During the WW1, First World War, the first line of the front, between the italian troups and Austro-Hungarian troops, began here. This area of wild mountains was a crucial strategic point where was the most cruents battles of this front. On the days of the famous “Strafenexpedition” the enormous Austrian-Hungarian attack, was the most intense artillery bombardments of the “world military history”… more of 1200 Italian cannons and 900 Austrian cannons have open the fire in contemporanely action… today when we walk on the upper mountain plateau of the Pasubio we can see these effects.
These are in short the reasons to choose the WW1 Pasubio Dolomites Trekking!
